Welcome to The Hertfordshire Aesthetics Clinic

Polynucleotides

Otherwise known as PN or PDRN injections, Polynucleotides are derived from fragments of fish DNA, which is the closest in structure to human DNA. This revolutionary and popular treatment hailed by many a celebrity has transformed the way in which we can treat the skin.

Polynucleotides are often our go-to treatment when looking to improve the under-eye area, however injections can also be beneficial to other areas of the face such as where fine lines or loss of elasticity are present.

Your tailored treatment will be carefully curated at consultation stage.

Polynucleotides key features:

Hydration

Polynucleotides can help the skin retain moisture and appear more radiant.

Anti-inflammatory

Polynucleotides have antioxidant properties that make them anti-inflammatory.

Skin rejuvenation

Polynucleotides can be used to treat both older skin and also prevent signs of aging in younger skin. They can help repair damaged DNA cells, which can improve cell function.

Collagen and elastin production

Polynucleotides stimulate fibroblast cells, which help produce collagen and elastin, the proteins that give skin its shape and volume.

All of the above features of polynucleotides combined can help give the skin a more youthful, plump and radiant appearance.

Under-Eye Treatment

With minimal downtime and no pain during treatment, polynucleotides are fast becoming the go-to treatment for the under-eye in particular, with many brands such as Vitaran and Nucleofill being designed specifically for this delicate area.

A great alternative to tear trough filler and complementary to crows feet anti-wrinkle injections, polynucleotides are fantastic choice for many clients wishing to improve the make-up of the under-eye skin and benefit from the improved appearance of new, healthy skin tissue.

FAQs

No, topical anesthetic cream is applied by your practitioner to take away any discomfort during your treatment.
Polynucleotides may not be suitable for you if you are vegan as the product is derived from fish DNA.
The average number of sessions required for optimal results is 3, however a tailored treatment plan will be advised during your consultation which will be specific to your skin concerns.
3-4 weeks is the general time allowed between each treatment session in order to achieve best results.
Absolutely! These treatments compliment each other wonderfully. 2 weeks should be allowed in between anti-wrinkle and polynucleotides treatment which your practitioner will advise you of.
It will take about 2–3 weeks for the Polynucleotides to be absorbed into your skin and begin working at the cellular level. Results may be seen from then - and will continue to improve for around 3 months after treatment, when you will see the full effects.
All 3 are injectable treatments but function differently. Polynucleotides are comprised of long chains of nucleotides (the building blocks of DNA) rather than hyaluronic acid as many dermal fillers and injectable moisturisers are. While dermal filler physically adds volume to the face, polynucleotides work to initiate your body’s natural rejuvenation processes. Likewise, while HA-based skin boosters are all about boosting hydration, polynucleotides are working more broadly to improve the extracellular matrix, leading to the enhanced production of collagen and elastin.
